Bate-Wood Community Park Project

“Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead

The Bate-Wood Team is back!  It’s been a long, but productive summer and we’re ready to start back in full-force.  We have exciting news regarding development at the Park - the Rotary Club of Danville has made a very generous donation to build the new Rotary Picnic Shelter!  Finances are being put in order and bids are being set to begin building this autumn!  The picnic shelter will be made complete by picnic tables and grills to create an outdoor eating space where kids and adults alike can share a meal and play together.

Earlier in the summer, The Bate-Wood Community Park Project and Centre’s After-School Program co-hosted a service day and BBQ, and it was a great success!!  We had over 30 community volunteers, and planted flowers around the gazebo, spread mulch and built and installed a new wooden bench!

The Bate-Wood Team and CARE (Centre Action Reaches Everyone) co-hosted a service day at the Park recently to jump-start the season.  Our gratitude goes out to all the volunteers - the Park looks great!

Don’t forget to check back for more Bate-Wood updates!  We can’t wait to share the progress with you!  As always, you may contact us at with any questions!
