Extraordinary Success Program The Extraordinary Success Program (ESP) seeks to encourage Centre seniors to pursue a broader range of outstanding graduate or professional school opportunities, particularly those that are out of state, by granting up to $750 to assist in the application process. The objectives of this program include encouraging thoughtful conversation between faculty and students regarding graduate school planning and analysis as to which graduate schools are a good match for the individual. The program is administered through Career Services. Students will submit a faculty sponsored proposal which will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the President. Proposals will include a cover letter outlining graduate school aspirations, a record of appropriate graduate or professional school standardized testing, a letter of support from a faculty sponsor, an expense budget, and a resume. The committee will evaluate proposals based on the quality of the student's graduate or professional school plans (with a reasonable expectation of admission) and whether or not the student will receive travel funding from their proposed graduate school. Included in the proposal should be a statement from the student and faculty sponsor giving the reasons why a given institution is particularly well respected within the field and why the match between the student and the institution is strong. Students must have at least a 3.35 Centre grade point average to be considered. Applications will be reviewed twice a year with deadlines of November 1 and February 15. If the proposal is approved, the student will be reimbursed up to $750 (depending on the budget approved and receipts submitted) in order to apply to, and, if applicable, visit the graduate school. Contact Mindy Wilson for more information about this exciting program!
