Centre Internship Plus for Summer Opportunities Do you know of any students who are applying for great internships? Encourage them to apply for Centre Internship Plus, Centre's unique competitive funding program for summer and CentreTerm internships. If selected, summer interns will receive up to $1500 for their quality experience. If you know of an interested student, encourage them to make an appointment with their career counselor today. The deadline for this very competitive program is April 11th.
On-Campus Recruiting The following companies will be interviewing qualified students here on campus: Northwestern Mutual Fowler Securities and Benefits National City Bank We've had a great response this year to on-campus recruiting. So far we have not had to cancel any recruiters' visits this spring (as we have had to do in the past due to the lack of student interest). We want to take this opportunity to thank faculty for encouraging their students to apply for these positions. The more students that express interest in current on-campus recruiters, the more recruiters we'll be able to invite in upcoming years! This year's on-campus recruiters are Summit Energy, Northwestern Mutual, Fowler Securities and Benefits, National City Bank, Jonathan Creek Camp, and 5/3 Bank. Students must apply to all companies interviewing on campus through eRecruiting (www.centre.edu/careers). All interviews will take place in the Career Services office. | Don't Cancel that Class!Don't forget that Career Services offers workshops and information sessions throughout the year in our offices. We are willing to adapt these or any other topics relating to careers, internships, and/or graduate school in order to present a specific program to your students. This can be a planned class or a last-minute request. If you are planning on canceling class due to illness, because you will be attending a conference or for any other reason, please consider giving us a call. We're happy to present information on any topic that you think will interest your students. Previous topics presented to classes include the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory, resume writing, interviewing skills, the job search, and major and career decision-making. In addition to class presentations, we are happy to give presentations or host workshops for any other group on campus, including (but not limited to) clubs, residential halls, and fraternities and sororities. Please let us know how we can help your class or group. Contact Deb Jones for more information. Spotlight on Employment Career Fair This year's Spotlight on Employment Career Fair was successful, to say the least! Of the 208 AIKCU students attending, 31 were Centre students, and among the 46 employers attending were Toyota, the FBI, U.S. Department of State, AFLAC, and National City Bank. We're already making plans for next year's event, so pass the word on to students that this is a great way to network for future jobs and internships!
Don't forget that summer internship deadlines are fast approaching. Many top-quality internships' deadlines have already passed, but there are still opportunities out there. Encourage your students to start looking for their summer experiences early. Career Services can help locate internship opportunities! |
