Centre College Mathematics Program

The people who teach mathematics at Centre enjoy working with their students, in the classroom, in the office, where-ever. We are available for conferences, for rendering aid, for offering advice in all aspects of life, and for general shooting-of-the-breeze. Faculty and interested students often meet to "put their heads together," solving interesting problems and sharing notes.

The menu at the mathematics spring picnic is fried chicken, various salads, cole slaw, potato chips, soda, baked beans, and lots of desserts. We hold the picnic in one of our homes, so various little kids are always running around and mixing things up. We also spend time playing outside: croquet, frisbee, and a "math" jeopardy competition have been recent favorites.
