Centre's Music Program is dedicated to helping students develop analytical, critical, and performance skills through the study of music. Introductory courses in Music Appreciation, Jazz History, World Music, and Music Theory assume a minimum of musical background. The major and minor uniquely integrate the study of music theory and history in advanced topic courses such as Beethoven, European Modernism, Orchestration, Performance Practice, Counterpoint, and Conducting. Classes are typically small in size to allow for close interaction between faculty and students.
