Facilities

Most performances take place in the renowned Norton Center for the Arts. This modern complex has a 1500-seat concert hall and a smaller experimental theater, both designed for professional as well as student use. The new 90-seat Audrey R. Gillespie Recital Hall provides the perfect atmosphere and acoustics for student recitals and small ensemble performances. Large rehearsal rooms, practice rooms, a music theory lab with MIDI workstations, dressing rooms, a costume shop, a scene shop, classrooms, music studios, drama studios, and faculty offices complete the arts center. The college also owns a large number of fine pianos, a large Cassavant organ, two harpsichords, consorts of recorders and crumhorns, and some large orchestral and jazz instruments for student use.

All students have access to the most up to date music technology. The Vivace computer accompaniment system and state of the art equipment in the music lab, including several Macintosh G5 computers, enable students to take full advantage of technological advances in music notation, recording, education, and performance.
