The Centre Institute for Food Ethics Research (CIFER) is a think-tank dedicated to research and publication on Food Ethics. Our researchers aim to critically evaluate the food system, how food is produced and consumed, and the effects of the entire food chain on politics, policy, farmers, consumers, communities, animals, economics, energy, and the environment. Our goal is to produce an ethical theory that can fully assess and evaluate the food chain, and to demonstrate in application to the various individual parts of our food system what goes wrong. We also strive to advocate for solutions and an ethically sound approach to food production that consumers can promote in order to prevent the problems proliferated by the current system.
