Back by popular demand… it’s the minutes!!  Read the whole thing to make sure you know the secret about next week =).

Advisor Quest 2004 has reached its gripping conclusion!! We’ve got an advisor!! (Not that you don’t count, Trina).  Her name is Megan O’Brien.  She went to Davidson for undergrad and attended Texas Tech for grad and currently works there.  She’s really sweet, approachable, and energetic, and we’re all excited for her to be joining the staff (especially Trina who’s already claimed Megan as her new best friend).  Anyway, feel free to ask exec any questions you may have about Megan.  Her first official day will be Nov 8.

Fear Factor is happening this Wednesday, the 20th, in Cowan at 6 PM.  The group has got 5 rounds of gross and/or painful challenges for the contestants to perform that include maple syrup, worms, water, tacos (with a slightly different cut of beef), and pork (again.. slightly different cut of meat) and jell-o (not exactly made with water).  They’re also giving away stuff to the audience to keep them entertained while they prepare stuff between rounds.  They also would like some suggestions about kinds of interactive things they can do to for the give-aways, i.e. trivia, some kind of quick activity to get rid of the stuff they’re planning on giving out.  Nikki and Kim are committee chairs if you have suggestions for them.  Sign-ups are happening this today and tomorrow at lunch (schedule below).

Homecoming is this Saturday! (Go Colonels!) BillyBlues will open the concert at 9 PM and play for about an hour.  Jupiter Coyote will start at 10:15.  It’s going to be at the end of Walnut (outside the Warehouse).  They will need help at the end of the concert, midnight-ish, (of the male persuasion to do heavy lifting, not that women can’t do heavy lifting…) to help tear down the staging.  If you are there and sober, please help us out.

For Fly-Away, we’ve got the tickets on sale in Cowan, $1, 1 ticket per person.  If you’re the first or last person(s) to work the table, the folder, ticket container, tickets, etc live in the office next to the “classics” line in Cowan.  Just go back there and ask for them, or leave them there when you’re done selling.  Make sure to highlight the names of the people who have bought tickets on the list provided.  Also let them know that they must be present to win, and they must have their ticket.  There are 5 smaller prizes that will be given away during the night, but people who win those prizes will still be in the drawing for the trip.  The final drawing will happen between 11 and 12, and we’re going to try and get one of the members of the band to draw the name for us to prevent any potential rumors of scandal that could arise in case a SAC member wins.  Not that that’s happened in recent history … … … …  Anyway, here’s the schedule of ticket selling.  Remember that you’ll also be signing up people for Fear Factor until Wednesday afternoon and for What Not to Wear starting Thursday (details to come).

Rocky Horror is on the 29th.  There’s going to be a meeting on Thursday to go to Walmart.  There’s also going to be a showing in the Nevin basement so’s we can all go learn the Timewarp!! It’ll be all the rage on Saturday night.  We’re currently looking for a guy to dress as Dr. Frankenfurter.  And remember that when you dress for this event, we don’t *winks* want to embarrass Trina.  PR for the event will go up on Sunday and Monday, since we’ve already gots lots with Homecoming stuff.

We’re planning to have a Centre version of What Not to Wear.  The committee wants to start taking nominations on Thursday (more double duty for those working the Fly-Away table).  Just write down the name and number.  This is a long term kind of project with filming occurring during Centreterm, and the actual presentation will occur in the Spring Term.  Questions, comments, etc go to Spencer.

Remember to talk up all our events for the rest of this month.  Word-of-mouth is still the best form of PR we have.  It’s also free, which means more money for.. well.. you know...

Almost done I promise!

Some tidbits from last week’s meeting: (sorry folks, but I had to go to a convo for government)

November has been planned!! (including a smidge of December)

11-6 Spades Tournament, JonBen Lacy is chair

11-10 Bingo, Andrea Frey is chair

            11-17 Midnight Movie, Laura & Jessica S. are co-chairs

12-4 Holiday Ball, MC, Laura, Nikki are chairs

More about these once we get October out of the way.

Whew… now then for the secret about next week’s meeting.  And that is:

There’s no meeting next Monday (the 25th)!!!!!!  I know how much y’all will miss it, but hey, we’ll need a break after this weekend.  Rocky Horror people will meet with exec on Monday (4:15) to give us the lowdown for the showdown.
