Or just the normal minutes that I failed to send out the past couple of nights... Anyway,

‘Twas Member Appreciation Night, so there was a bunch of good SAC’er luvin’ going on (i.e. ice cream).  So folks, great job so far this year!! We’ve been way more productive so far this year than we were last year, and we owe it all to you hard-working SAC folks!  Let’s keep up the good work =)

On a similar note, kudos to the Rocky Horror group, which put on a great event last Friday.  We had a really good turnout, and we got a completely different audience, which was most excellent =)

We had a t-shirt report from Mary Catherine.  She took down names and sizes for t-shirts, so if you want one, you’d better let Mary Catherine know right quick what size you want.  They’ll be vintage navy with white writing (and hot dog), and it’ll have the SAC-tastic logo on it as well.

Mary Catherine also had a few words on the subject of committee chairs.  We’ve discussed them at exec and found that things aren’t working quite as efficiently as we’d hoped.  In order to get things going in more of the right path, we’re going to have an exec member either co-chairing or chairing each event, just to kind of guide committee chairs and help them out along the way.  This way the co-chair or other members get to know how to organize things a little better and delegate jobs to different members so that the chair people don’t feel like they’re taking on too much.

We also had an update from our Webmaster/Treasurer.  The website is up!! Wee hoo!! web.centre.edu/SAC (just type it into the address bar).  It’s a rather lovely shade of green that has upcoming events listed, as well as links to the minutes and the calendar.  There aren’t any pictures at the moment, they’ll be uploaded as soon as Thomba (the Hutt) gets enough spare time to do so.  Also, please send any pictures that you may have to Thom, with a little description of what event the picture came from.

This Saturday at 3 PM, we’re going to have a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament (instead of the Spades tournament).  We plan on having 10 tables, no admission fee, just come and play poker.  Everyone will be given the same amount of chips at the beginning.  1st prize will be a $20 gift certificate to Wal-Mart, and 2nd prize will be a $5 gift certificate to Blockbuster.  Set-up will be at 2:30 at the Warehouse.  PR is word-of-mouth, so let everyone and their roommates know about this event.  Put it in your AIM profile, write it on your forehead, write it in Easy Cheese outside Cowan (ok don’t do that), but talk it up, we want a good turn-out.

At the moment we’re planning Bingo to be on Wed. Nov 10 from 6-8.  We still have to check with CCF to see if they’re going to need to come in early to set-up things, but hopefully we’ll be able to have the space.  We’re going to let people come and go as they please during that time, and give away simple prizes (free ones that we can find either in the office or in storage).  There will also be a variety of ways to win (4 corners, traditional Bingo, etc).  PR will be table tents that closely resemble Bingo cards.

The Holiday Ball committee will have a meeting on Thursday at 6:45 on the 3rd floor of the Warehouse to go through the decorations and other stuff we have in storage as well as the different aspects of the night: PR, band/dj, food, Cowan, décor, etc.

Our Finals Study breakers, strangely, will occur during finals.  Such a novel concept.  Anyway, the committee decided that they were going to have 2 massage nights the night before and the night following the faculty breakfast.  There’s also the possibility of having butlers in Cowan.. aka Spencer dressed in a tuxedo.  *wink*

On a less happy note, it was Trina’s last official meeting as our interim advisor.  =`( , but we gave her a fun ‘Thank you/We’ll miss you’ gift that included some Diet Coke, sticky notes that say “Overachieva Diva” on them, and other stuff.  She will be coming to meetings for the rest of the semester (except next week when she’ll be at a conference).

As part of her thoughts on SAC, she’s really happy that she got the opportunity to work with us and get to know us.  She said that we learn really good skills in SAC and we make fun things for Centre, so it’s an all-around win.  Yay SAC, and Thanks to Trina for being a wonderful advisor for the past few months!

Lastly, we had some birthdays, so Happy Birthday November babies: Ashley Reser, Katie McBride, Jessica Shuck, Hannah Warner, DeShawn Collett, and Jason Woodall.

FYI: There’s a coffee house on Nov. 11 by a Centre grad.  Go and support our alum (and Trina’s friend) =D

Quotable SAC: “Thom, we might not be friends.  So much for the make-out session.”
