And now for the shortest minutes ever!!!

Mainly because there were 9 people at the meeting (5 of whom are on exec)… This worries us… Just because we had Member Appreciation Night last week, doesn’t mean that we only appreciated you then.  Did you know that every time you miss a SAC meeting, a fairy loses one of its wings? The fairy’s just fluttering along, and then next thing you know she (or he) is doing a nosedive toward the ground.  Then the little guy’s gotta figure out how to fly with one wing… figures maybe he (or she) could try and hover sideways… but really, that’s no way for a fairy to live.  Come to SAC meetings and save a fairy somewhere some wing strain.  Seriously though, SAC can’t do what we set out to do without you.  We can’t make it on our own (unlike Li’l Brudder).  As a result of the low turnout tonight, we had to scratch the Bingo scheduled for Wednesday night because none of the committee members were present.  We don’t want to make a habit of this.

For the lucky 4 who were at the meeting today, they got to meet our brand new Director of Student Activities, Megan O’Brien!  Woo hoo!  I deem Advisor Quest 2004 to have officially concluded.  She’s already offered us some great suggestions about how to make SAC even better than it is, and we’re really excited to finally have her here with us =D

The lucky 4 at the meeting also got to hear news about our t-shirts, which we will have next Monday.  Hear that? T-shirts next Monday.  Hot Dog!

We’re also planning on finally having a much-needed SAC retreat, but since this semester is going to be crazy until it’s over, we’re waiting to have it in CentreTerm on Jan. 8th (it’s a Saturday).  We’re going to be doing team-building and future planning (i.e. Spring Term), so you don’t want to miss it.  On a similar note, we’re going to be planning for CentreTerm the 2nd week of December, so don’t miss that either.  Remember the fairies.

The Masquerade Ball committee has the PR timeline finished.  They’re currently working on the details such as the DJ, food, potential balloon arch, etc.  They’d also really appreciate it if all-SAC came out in full force to help set up.  You’d be generously compensated in the form of peanut butter fudge made by our very own Thom “Muscles Be” Greene.

We’ve also got the finals study breakers covered.  Again, there will be 2 massage nights, the night before and the night after the faculty breakfast.  They’re also on planning on having a list so that people only go once (just to be fair).

Lastly, we’ve got Midnight Movies coming up the 17th.  We want to focus all of our attention on this event, since we know that it works so well and is generally popular.  So flyers and a Cowan sign are going up as soon as we know what movies we’re showing.  We also need volunteers to help keep things under control *keep them drunkards out*.  So show up at 11:30 if you can help out.

Ok, so I lied.  I have one more point, which is, last week I said that exec would either co-chair or chair each event.  That was a lie, too.  Really, there’s just going to be an exec member on each committee just to be a sounding board/guide during the process of event planning, just to make sure we have all our ducks in a row (and all the fairies have wings).

Congratulations to our SAC’er of the Month: Jessica Stauble!!

For your dedicated service to the Student Activities Council, we, the Executive Board, bequeath upon you…. a prize that will be stored in your mailbox.

That’s all from SAC-land

Later days my friends,
