Monday Night Minutes!!!?!?!
Hand over the Chapstick and tape because we’re on a mission!
First things first though, Happy Birthday to Nate, Josh B., and our Advisor Megan!! Dean Randy declared today Megan Day in her honor =D
Tomorrow the Ron Jones Jazz Quartet is playing at 8 PM on the 1st floor of the Warehouse… Yeah there’s a Norton event, but it’s not a convo…. … … so go to both!
Here’s the lowdown on the showdown for Carnival!
We’ve got 7 possible booths. Anyone that wants a booth should let Christina K. know. Even if your club hasn’t been formed yet, have a booth! It’ll be fun!!
Nothing’s new with Inflatables. We’ve still got them all ready.
Centre Bands are lined up. We’ve got Cliff Wright, Richard Williams & others (?), Elliott Herndon & others, and potentially DDC (Phi Taus). Hopefully they’ll get back to us by Wednesday with all their information.
Monica’s Power to the People committee seems to be going strong as well. If you know of anyone that would be interested in helping with set-up or take-down, please let Monica know.
Exec will be compiling everything into a master list of Carnival goodness on Thursday during common hour. We will get out all that information to you when we can (probably on Monday).
Lastly, we had a few words to say about the editorial written in the last Cento. It wasn’t the best of all editorials, because we’ve worked hard, and the editorial doesn’t reflect that. But we’re going to be civil and tactful. We are going to write a response, so if there was anything included in the article that you want addressed, please email Monica and let her know. Exec will also be working on compiling our response on Thursday during common hour. We will send out the final draft before we publish it, because we are going to sign it “Student Activities Council,” and we want to have your approval before we send it off. Remember when you are talking to other people about our position to be tactful, because we don’t want to create tension between us and the Cento. And really, we appreciate having these opinions pointed out to us. It may not have been through the best of channels for our sake, but it is important to know how we are being perceived on campus.
That said.. it’s back to work… unfortunately.
Happy week!
Christina
