Bio: Well, I'm a junior here at Centre, majoring in Physics and Math. I'm a Louisville, KY native, and I graduated from duPont Manual High School in 2005. I'm pretty active here at Centre, between classes, work, and clubs, but I always love to goof off and I absolutely love to have a good laugh. I'm the type to make a really stupid joke during a Hall Program, but as long as it gets even a small chuckle, I'm happy.
Reason for Being in SMART: The short story? My dad is an alcoholic/addict, and I joined SMART for reasons relating to that. The long story is that my father graduated from Centre, valedictorian and a leader in Pan-Hel and PKT, and I lived for 12 years with someone who's drinking and drug problems started at Centre; I joined SMART so I could help people at a time when problems like drinking and drugs are likely to start. I don't want people to have to go through what my family and the families of a good many of my friends went through, and if I can help in any way I can, I'm going to do it. Since this is the basic spiel I give at hall programs, I'll also say what I say there, that I do drink, and I choose to do it safely and responsibly, and only in situations where I feel safe and comfortable. There's a right way and a wrong way to drink, and I choose to drink SMART.
