Allergy Shots
Given only during the physician clinics. You must wait 20 minutes after the injection.
Employee Health
The following services are available to employees of Centre College: flu vaccines, blood pressure checks, TB skin test, tetanus shots and Hepatitis A and B shots (at cost).
Immunizations
Flu, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Meningitis, TD and TdaP (Tetanus-Diphtheria) vaccines. TB Skin testing is offered for a fee.
Pharmacy
A limited number of pharmacy drugs are available for a minimal charge. You may pay cash or charge them to your college account.
Laboratory and X-rays
Available at the local hospital (Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center). Charges will be billed to your insurance company or your home address.
Cold Center
Over the counter cold medications are available without having to see the nurse.
Women's Health Clinic
Offered two days per month. Pap smears and birth control services are available. There is no charge for this clinic. Appointments are necessary.
Referral Service
Names and phone numbers of local physicians and specialists are available upon request.
Mental Health Issues
For emotional distress, we are always glad to provide support and guidance. Kathy Miles, Centre College Counselor, has office hours on campus on Tuesday 12:00 noon - 6:00 pm and Friday 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm, along with referral to the Comprehensive Care Center if appropriate. Students are eligible for six free visits per year at Comp Care.
