New Student Orientation | Things I wish I knew...

Welcome to Centre College - Class of 2012

Things we wish we knew before coming to Centre College
by Eowyn Coleman '09 and Jacob Raderer '09

  • You do learn just as much about life outside the classroom as you do inside.
  • Professors do care - don't be afraid to ask for help.
  • Don't be afraid of upperclassmen - they have all been in your shoes.
  • President Roush will always take time to talk to you and most likely will know your name.
  • The people you will turn to the most are the staff and faculty of Centre College.
  • You can arrange dorm furniture 1,000 different ways even in the smallest room.
  • You'll meet people on your hall who will be your best friends and your worst enemies,
but they will all teach you something about yourself.
  • Some of the best conversations will take place in community bathrooms.
  • Know that doing your best is enough.
  • Visiting the Post Office will make your day - especailly getting a little green package card.
  • It's a lot easier if you don't wait to get all of your convos at the last minute.
  • Your best friend will be your personal planner.
  • The Fall Activities Expo is not your only chance to get involved.
  • What the weather looks like through your window is not what it feels like outside.
  • No matter how much studying you have to do, there will always be time for a nap.
