Randy Hays
Vice President and Dean of Student Life

Randy was promoted to the position of Vice President and Dean of Student Life in 2000 after serving since 1993 as Director of Residence Life & Counseling and Associate Dean of Student Life. As Vice President and Dean of Student Life, Randy continues to have an"open door" policy, which invites all students to call upon him for advice or direction here at Centre College. His philosophy for the Student Life Office is that each student deserves to have the best "outside the classroom" experience along with the best education while at Centre College. Randy earned a bachelor's degree from Berea College and a master's in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kentucky.

 
 

Anita Bertram

Anita, a Danville native, joined the Student Life staff in 2001. She comes to Centre from a local manufacturing facility where she was a Human Resources Assistant for 16 years. One of her major responsibilities in the Student Life Office is the publication of the student handbook which is given to each student. She also publishes the yearly Centre Fold.

 
   
 

Ann Young
Director of Student Life and Housing

A twenty-year plus veteran of the Student Life staff, Ann, a Danville native, has worked in student activities, housing, and volunteer service during her tenure at Centre. She has a bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky and a master's degree in counseling from Eastern Kentucky University. Ann coordinates all the housing of students on campus in the residence halls and special housing.

Sarah Scott Hall
Director of Residence Life/Coordinator of Health & Counseling Services

Sarah re-joined the Student Life Staff in 2001. She comes to Centre from Georgetown College where she was the Director of Counseling and Health Services for four years. She is a Centre graduate and worked here as co-director of Greek Life and Student Activities in 1993-1994. She received her master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 1997 from the University of Kentucky. Sarah works directly with a staff of 50 Resident Directors and Resident Assistants.

 
   

Patrick Noltemeyer

Director of Volunteer Service and Bonner Program Coordinator

Patrick joined the Student Life staff in 2003 to advise the College's nine inter/national fraternities and sororities. In Spring of 2005 Patrick accepted his current position as Director of Volunteer Service and Bonner Program Coordinator. Patrick is a 2001 graduate of Centre College and completed his master's degree in Higher Education from the University of Kentucky. Prior to returning to Centre, Patrick served as a graduate assistant to Greek Life at Georgetown College, a hall director at the University of Kentucky and as the Director of Scholars for the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program.

Megan O'Brien

Megan joined the Student Life staff in November of 2004 to advise the Student Government Association, Student Activities Council, coordinate campus events, and manage the Combs Activity Center. Her duties include coordinating educational programming and supporting student organizations. Megan is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Davidson College in North Carolina and completed her master's degree in Higher Education Administration at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Prior to working at Centre, Megan served as the Director of Orientation/Assistant Director for Admissions and a Hall Director at Texas Tech University.

       

Melissa Clarke
Director of Greek Life & New Student Orientation

Melissa join ed the Student Life staff in July of 2007 to advise the eight inter/national fraternities and sororities and to oversee New Student Orientation. Her duties include coordinating educational and leadership programming for the fraternity/sorority community; advising the executive boards of the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and Order of Omega as well as helping to plan and implement new student orientation. Melissa is originally from Toledo, Ohio; graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio and completed her master's degree in College Student Personnel at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to working at Centre, Melissa served as an Admissions Counselor at Lourdes College and as the Graduate Assistant for Fraternity/Sorority Life and Leadership at the University of Dayton.

     
 

Jay Carnes
Student Life Coordinator for Greek Affairs and Leadership Development

Following graduation from Centre College in May 2007, Jay joined the Student Life staff in August.  His responsibilities include developing leadership programs for various student groups on campus and advancing the creation of a First Year Experience program for incoming students.  Jay also works in conjunction with the Director of Greek Life in training Greek chapter officers.  Jay is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and he enjoys running and good puns.
