Up "Til Dawn is a year long, campus-wide fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude's operating costs are tremendous, especially considering that patient families are never billed by the hospital. The hospital accepts only the portion of the cost covered by insurance, and if a family is without insurance, St. Jude accepts no payment at all. Centre students chose to adopt the Up 'Til Dawn fundraiser at the end of the 200-2001 school year. During the 2001-2002 school year, Centre raised $15,000 for St. Jude through a range of activities that included several auctions, a 5K run, and a letter writing campaign. At the end of the campaign, a celebration was held to thank those who contributed their time and financial resources. During the 2006-2007 school year, Up 'Til Dawn hosted their first all-night awareness event, withover one hundred students participating. This year UTD plans to have an all-night dance-a-thon to raise money. The 2006-2007 school year promises to bring similar success.
