International Student ID Cards

Past Centre students, particularly those traveling in Europe, have found that an international student ID card gets them discounts on various items. And some Centre students have booked the lowest-cost flights through STA Travel, the company that sells the international ID cards. If you book a STA Travel flight, you will have to get an international ID card in order to hold your plane ticket beyond a certain date.

Centre does not make any money on international ID cards, but processes them for students as a convenience. The process of obtaining one is simple, as described below:

1. Go to the Cashier's Office in Boles Hall and see Judy Bowell. Pay her $5.00 to cover the cost of pictures and $22.00 to cover the cost of the ID card. (This totals $27.00.) She will give you a receipt.

2. Take this receipt to the Center for Teaching and Learning department in the basement of Crounse on any Tuesday between 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. The CTL will take your picture and give you four mug-shots. (It's a good idea to take the three extra mug-shots with you when traveling abroad. The London students, for example, will need them to obtain tube passes.)

3. Take your picture plus the Business Office receipt to Ms. Sherri Gowins, the administrative assistant in the Career Services office in Carnegie. With your picture and receipt, she will quickly be able to make up your international ID card.

4. The cards are good from September of one year through December of the following year. Thus, students needing them during a CentreTerm or spring term can purchase them beginning in the preceding September. Students needing them for the fall term can purchase them up to one year in advance.
