Ben's Story |
We have been bring you news about Ben since last September as the St. Jude Patient of the Month. Unfortunately, we must bring you unhappy news. Ben left this world Friday, February 25, 2005. It is for children like been that we work so hard. This is why there are places like St. Jude. We continue to ask for your prayers for Ben's family and for those like Ben. It is the ultimate goal of St. Jude to one day close it doors for good! That would mean that kids like Ben would not have to suffer from such disease. That day is always one day closer when people work together for a cure. Ben had a particular kind of childhood cancer called Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor or Rhabdoid. Our little St. Jude "warrior" recently turned 2 years old. For his birthday, he was flown by private jet to Disney World for breakfast with Mickey Mouse. To read more about Ben' s story click here! For those who accept the healing power of prayer: |
Prayer To Saint Jude* O most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone.Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly for Ben and all children afflicted with cancer and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever. I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.

The Twenty Third Psalm* The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green Pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me, thy rod and staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. |
