I am married to Susan Weston, who makes a living as an independent education consultant. From 1992 to 2006 she was Executive Director of the Kentucky Association of School Councils.

We have three wonderful kids: Molly, now at Swarthmore College; Nora, now at Danville High School, and Joe, now at Bate Middle School.

I am originally from Plymouth Meeting, PA. Some of my family still lives in Pennsylvania.
