Division of Humanities

Though no major or minor is offered in this program, the purpose of these courses is to introduce students to the riches of world literature in translation. These courses are especially useful to students majoring in or interested in the humanities.

LIT 250 World War II and German Literature
A study of Vergangenheitsbewältigung, the coming to terms with the past, in the writings of Ernst Jünger, Thomas Mann, Bertolt Brecht, Christa Wolf, Arnim Müller, Günter Grass and other writers representing differing political spectra. Readings in English. No prerequisite.
